Priyadarshan taking Naadodigal to Hindi

Samuthirakani's Naadodigal is the latest South Indian movie to enter Bollywood. Well, Priyadarshan is all set to remake it in Hindi and interesting point of the story is that he is joining hands with cinematographer Santhosh Sivan with whom he worked 17 years ago in Kalapaani. Reports say that like Naadodigal, the Hindi version will also feature newcomers in the lead roles. Currently, Priyadarshan is busy with the pre-production works. The movie will be shot in Mumbai and Mysore. Manisha Korde, who had written script for Billu Barber, a remake of Kuselan, is penning the script. The cast and other crew are yet to be finalised. Naadodigal starred Sasikumar, Vijay Vasanth, Barani, Abhinaya and Ananya in the important roles. It was directed by Samuthirakani and produced by S Michael Rayappan. The film has already been remade in Telugu (Shambo Shiva Shambo) and Kannada (Hudugaru), where both the films have become hit.

Shafi plans ’101 Weddings’ with Kunchacko Boban and Biju Menon!

Film director Shafi might not have hit the jackpot with his last Malayalam release ‘Venicile Vyaapaari’, but that hasn’t really stopped the director from moving on to film production! Along with his brother Rafi, the film maker has launched a production house the first film of which has been titled ’101 Weddings’. Quite an interesting title, we do agree! The film will have Kunchacko Boban and Biju Menon playing the lead role. The last time the duo was seen together was for the super hit film ‘Ordinary’. News reports claim that Jayasurya might be seen in an interesting role in the film as well. ’101 Weddings’ would be scripted by Kalavoor Ravikumar who had scripted films like ‘Ishtam’, and who had recently directed ‘Father’s Day’. Our readers might remember that Shafi has always delivered hits when he had directed comedies, and ’101 Weddings’ would be a humorous film as well. The rest of the cast and crew of the film is being finalized.

After the super hit films 'Katha parayumpol' and 'Manickyakallu', director M Mohanan will start the shoot for his new movie '916' shortly. The Pooja of the movie was held last week at BT Sarovaram, Kochy. Featuring Asif Ali, Anoop Menon and Mukesh, the movie, as usual from the director, will tell the tale of love and human relations. While Asif Ali will appear as a youngster looking for right jobs, Anoop and Mukesh will be appearing as practising doctors. The movie will also present four new heroines to Mollywood. Also scripted by the director, the music department will be handled by Anil Panachooran and M Jayachandran. The shoot for the movie is expected to start by the 21st of June at Kozhikkod.

Ajith Kumar's Billa 2 in multiple languages!

Ajith Kumar's much-awaited Billa 2 seems to be garnering attention not only in India but also in other countries. As a result, the movie is all set to release in multiple languages! If the reports are to be believed, the makers of Billa 2 are planning to release it in France with French subtitles. Considering the fan following of Ajith Kumar in the Western Europe, the movie bosses have reportedly decided to release with the subtitles. It is also said that the film will release with the Malaysian (Malaysia) and Hindi (North India) subtitles. However, the film is expected to be censored by the next weekend and it will be ready to hit the screens by this month end. Billa 2 is helmed by Chakri Toleti and it features Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah in the female lead roles. It is a prequel to Billa, which was directed by Vishnuvardhan.

Hero – Movie Review

Hero, directed by Dipham and starring Prithviraj in the male lead is an all and all Masala entertainer. The film will not disappoint you completely as there is loads of action, humour and romance. But Hero is not without flaws. After Puthiya Mugham, one was expecting a similar type of fast paced, crisp and unique storyline from Dipham-Prithviraj combo. But, the director failed to hit the bull's eye with Hero this time. It's a treat to watch handsome Prithviraj's highly toned physique. The songs and dance seem obsolete and is unimpressive. A little more crisp editing would have done justice to the film. Script by Vinod Guruvayoor lacks the punch. Story Hero revolves around the life of few stunt artists who work in films. Dharmarajan Master (Thalaivasal Vijay) is a retired stunt artist and is deeply upset about getting his daughter married off. That is when his wife advises him to meet director Adityan (Anoop Menon), who happens to be his shishya (student). Adityan has high regard for Dharmarajan and immediately agrees to allow him to choreograph a fight in his upcoming film, even thought he had already committed the work to Uday (Bala). Uday is Darmarajan’s nephew as well as disciple. Though Adityan asks Dharmarajan to use Uday’s assistants, Uday refuses and even insults the veteran. Then Dharmarajan visits Tarzan Antony (Prithviraj), and asks him for help. Even though Antony initially refuses, he later relents and decides to help his guru. Yami Gautam as Gauri Menon plays the role of a heroine who gets interested in Prithviraj. Performances It's a pleasure to see Prithviraj dance and perform action. He is good in what he does best – brilliant action! Thalaivasal Vijay and Anoop Menon are good as well. Yami Gautam would have performed better if she had a more meaty role. She has nothing much to do as Prithviraj's love interest. Verdict Overall, Hero is an average film and can be enjoyed mainly if you are a fan of Prithviraj!
